Katherine King

Katherine often jokes she has taken the scenic route of life! Guided by her commitment to compassion for others, Katherine started her education and employment career in social work (BA- Hons., BSW, Dalhousie); then changed gears to move into massage therapy (RMT, CCNM). She enjoyed her work as an RMT for almost 25 years, linking it easily and seamlessly into the early days of her yoga journey. Moving on from being a full time RMT - Katherine felt the calling for a new vocation to fill out her life’s work.

At a variety of yoga studios in HRM, over the course of many hours of mindful movement and study, Katherine deeply connected with the physical, mental and spiritual health benefits of a consistent yoga practice. She decided to pursue her own RYT training, and has been teaching now for almost 10 years since completing
her training in Spring 2016. Katherine has fully segued into teaching, learning and practicing a variety of indoor and outdoor movement styles which support her love of strength based fitness, and her frequent national & international distance trekking ventures.

Today, you will find Katherine diving passionately into studying the path of yoga as both a philosophy and as a framework for living life; for her the Yoga Sutras are a never ending source of guidance for being a resilient heart-led human in our world. She never tires of sharing her yoga love daily, at the front of the class, or right
next to you practicing on her mat
