Maureen (certified Nia White Belt teacher) has been devoted to many fitness practices over the decades. While searching for a new addition to her fitness routine, she was introduced to Nia. After a only a few classes she was hooked! Nia is an exhilarating movement practice done barefoot. A wonderful blend of Dance Arts (Duncan, Jazz, Modern), Martial Arts (Tai Chi, Tae Kwon Do, Aikido) and Healing Arts (Yoga, Moshe Feldenkrais, Alexander Technique) done to inspiring modern and ethnic music. Each Nia has a focus and intent providing a fun full body workout in your body’s way that is suitable for all ages and fitness levels. Since becoming a certified teacher in 2010, Maureen has been working on sharing Nia in Tantallon and is happy to be joining Breathing Space Yoga Studio.
Maureen's Nia program starts again in the New Year on Wednesdays at 5:30 - 6:30pm. Join her on Sunday, January 8th for a New Year, a New You. From 1-4pm we'll sample various beginner classes and then pop over to Superstore for a guided tour and healthy eating dicussion with Edie, local Dietician.
