Alexis was introduced to yoga in 2003 while recovering from knee surgery and dealing with chronic pain and anxiety. Yoga has become a beacon for balance in her life, helping her to live fully, joyfully in the moment. Three years ago, with the goal of sharing her passion for yoga, she obtained her 200hr Yoga Teacher Training and Yoga in Schools Training with Breathing Space Yoga Studio. The experience was and continues to be transforming.
One of the predominant themes in Alexis’s classes is to treat each practice as an opportunity to be in the present moment with friendly awareness; allowing your inner voice and your breath to give nourishment as you honor the needs of your physical body. The goal of each practice is for you to know that the goodness and space created on your mat goes with you throughout the rest of your day and week.
Alexis lives as simply as possible during busy times. She and her husband are parents to two beloved young boys and she teaches middle school, where she shares her joy of yoga and practices friendly awareness daily.
